FTMO Alternatives If You Got Rejected (2026)

Last updated: July 2026. If you were "rejected" before you could even start a challenge, it's almost certainly not about your trading — it's about where you live.

The most common reason: country restrictions, not evaluation failure

FTMO restricts sign-ups from a list of countries for regulatory and sanctions-compliance reasons, not trading-skill reasons. That list includes the United States, Russia, India, North Korea, Belarus, Cuba, Indonesia, Venezuela, Iran, Syria, Myanmar, and a number of others across Asia, the Caribbean, and elsewhere. If your account application was blocked before you ever placed a trade, this is almost always why — it's a compliance filter, not a judgment of your ability.

If you're a US resident specifically

This one has changed recently: FTMO announced a US-specific partnership with OANDA in August 2025, opening an FTMO pathway for US residents that didn't exist before. If you were blocked as a US trader before that, it's worth checking FTMO's current US onboarding path directly rather than assuming you're permanently locked out.

If you're restricted and need a genuine alternative

The5ers is one option we've directly reviewed with different country eligibility — check their current signup page for your specific country before assuming eligibility. We're not going to list firms we haven't verified rules for just to pad this list; a wrong "alternative" that also rejects you wastes another application and possibly another fee.

If it actually was an evaluation failure

If you did place trades and failed on a rule breach rather than being blocked at signup, that's a different problem — check our FTMO vs The5ers comparison for whether a different rule structure (looser daily loss limit, or a single-step evaluation) might fit your trading style better before you pay for another attempt at the same rules that already tripped you up once.

Bottom line

Check the actual rejection reason before assuming you need a different firm — a country restriction and a rule-breach failure call for completely different fixes, and confusing the two wastes money on the wrong solution.
